Archaeological Museum, Halebidu
The museum was established in 1962 and houses more than 900 sculptures, architectural members, inscriptions retrieved from Halebidu and its neighboring areas. The collection is displayed in a closed gallery as well as in an open air gallery. The sculptures of Brahma-Saraswati, Kala Bhairava, Mother and Child, wooden carvings and a bronze statue of a Tirthankara are the important displays in the sculpture gallery. The open air gallery has in its display sculptures such as Govardhana-giridhari Krishna, dancing Shiva, Nataraja and Veena Saraswati, dancing Ganesha and elegant couchant Nandi.
